Classes & Workshops

Level up your production skills

We currently offer three production classes to teach you everything you need to produce and edit your show. These classes are taught on the first, second and third Thursdays of each month, respectively. All classes start at 6:30 p.m. Registration and class fees must be made 48 hours in advance.

Producer's
Orientation

First Thursdays
6:30 Pm - 8:00 PM

This non-technical, 90-minute class will cover the policies and procedures of community access television and is the first step toward becoming a Television Producer with your own TV show. This class is required for all members who wish to submit programming to Napa Valley TV for the first time. Parents must also take this class if they have a minor in their household planning to submit content to Napa Valley TV under their family membership.

TV Production
Workshop

Second Thursdays
6:30 Pm - 9:30 PM

In this 3-hour workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of television production. Use of the video camera operation and terminology, shot composition, use of tripods, basic lighting, audio, and script outlines will be covered. Successful completion of this class will allow students to serve as crew members at the Napa Valley TV studio. It will also allow them the ability to check out field camera equipment for on-location productions.

Non-Members - $60

Intro to
Digital Editing

Third Thursdays
6:30 Pm - 9:30 PM

During this 3-hour class, students will learn how to use Adobe Premiere CC to capture and edit video, add music and titles, and create a voice-over to make their production something everyone will enjoy. This is a Windows-based class where students will also learn popular shortcuts and commands to improve workflow. This workshop is limited to four people per session.

Non-Members -$80

Private Training

Get one-on-one sessions

Private class sessions are available for $75/hour at the Napa Valley TV Studio or at your off-site location. Please note any off-site training requires a two-hour minimum. E-mail James at james@napavalleytv.org to inquire about private class sessions.
